Boston, Hockey East and TD Garden will host the 2015 Frozen Four, the NCAA announced Wednesday. It will be the first time Boston has hosted college hockey’s national championship since 2004, when Denver beat Maine in the title game.

TD Garden also hosted the Frozen Four in 1998, with Michigan beating Boston College in the final. Boston as a city has hosted the event seven times dating back to 1960.

“This is a great day for hockey in New England,” said Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna. “The region’s hockey fans support the college game week after week, season after season. This will allow them the opportunity to come and enjoy the season’s biggest games and enjoy much of what the TD Garden and the City of Boston have to offer. All of us in Hockey East look forward to delivering a memorable championship for participants and fans alike.”

The NCAA also announced that the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Frozen Fours will be held in Tampa, Chicago and St. Paul, respectively.

In addition, the NCAA announced that Manchester and Providence will host regionals in 2015, while Worcester will host one in 2016. Worcester is also hosting a regional this year.
