Wesley Saunders leads Harvard past Boston College

Wesley Saunders scored 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead Harvard to a 73-58 victory over Boston College on Wednesday before a sellout crowd of 2,195 at Lavietes Pavilion.

Kyle Casey added 11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks for the Crimson (12-1), who beat BC for the sixth consecutive year.

Ryan Anderson led the Eagles (4-10) with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Olivier Hanlan finished with 13 points on just 3-of-12 shooting.

BC missed 19 of its first 26 shots as it fell behind 8-1 and 17-6. The margin was 14 at the break, 39-25. The Eagles shot much better in the second half (54 percent) and closed the gap to five after a pair of baskets by Anderson made it 56-51 with 7:33 remaining. Harvard responded with a coast-to-coast drive by Saunders (after a block by Steve Moundou-Missi) and a 3-pointer by Siyani Chambers, (after a Casey block).

In addition to shooting 50 percent for the game, the Crimson outrebounded the Eagles 36-24.
