Ryan Anderson had 28 points and 11 rebounds, both game highs, to lead Boston College to a 75-67 overtime victory over Sacred Heart on Tuesday night at Conte Forum.
Joe Rahon contributed 19 points and outscored Sacred Heart in overtime, 9-6. Olivier Hanlan added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Sacred Heart started strong, hitting 11 of its first 15 shots, including 6-0f-6 treys. The Pioneers led by 10 in the period and by seven at the half. BC began the second half on a 10-2 run, keyed by four points from Hanlan, to take its first lead at 37-36. The game remained tight the rest of the way. Neither team scored in the final 2:48 of regulation.
Lonnie Jackson opened overtime with a 3-pointer, and Rahon scored five of the Eagles’ next seven points.
Chris Evans scored 18 points to lead Sacred Heart (1-5).
BC (3-4) is off until Dec. 4, when it plays at Purdue.
