Boston College will meet Arizona in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl on Dec. 31 (12:30 p.m.) in a game that will feature the nation’s top two rushers.

Formerly known as the Independence Bowl, the game is played at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La. It marks the first postseason game in three years for the Eagles, who were 2-10 last year but rebounded under first-year coach Steve Addazio to go 7-5.

“We are thrilled to play in the Advocare V100 Bowl, be able to compete for our eighth win and to have a chance to compete against a great opponent like Arizona,” Addazio said in a school release. “We’re thrilled; we’re excited; The players are excited and they are all fired up. It’s an exciting time at Boston College. This is a game that highlights our season and it’s a reward for becoming bowl eligible and competing at a higher level.”

BC is led by senior Andre Williams, the only unanimous All-ACC selection this year, who has rushed for 2,102 yards and 17 touchdowns. Williams leads the nation with 175.2 yards per game.

Arizona (7-5) features Ka’Deem Carey, like Williams a Heisman Trophy candidate and Doak Walker Award finalist. Carey, the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, is averaging 156 yards per game, second only to Williams.
